St. John's was the geteway to Newfoundland during the early years of our history. Many times our forefathers came unscathed through terrible ocean voyages only to fall victim to the dangerous Narrows. It was a formidable sight to behold from any direction.
This book covers the period from around 1810 to 1899. There are enough stories before and after those dates to fill another book.
