About the Author
William Norman Baggs was born at Clarenville, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland on February 12, 1926. Bill's first job with the Newfoundland Railway was at the age of 12, shovelling coal from the holds of the railway ships which delivered the coal to Clarenville for the steam locomotives etc. From there he worked his way through the ranks to roadmaster and program supervisor and served in areas from St. John's to Port aux Basques.
