Snook is Pete Soucy's street-smart "corner boy" character from downtown St. John's, Newfoundland. He is the stereotypical resident of St. John's with his slicked back hairdo and well honed accent. Quick talking and fun-loving, SNOOK has entertained thousands on stage, radio and TV for well over a decade. A regular on CBC's Canada Now, Lorne Elliot's Madly Off in All Directions, and the Halifax Comedy Festival, Snook has also hosted his own variety series Wicked Night Out. An extensive 'gig-list" includes several major ad campaigns, special events, and dozens of corporate functions every year. Snook is sociable and likes to take part in the typical St. John's social calendar as seem in these photos:
Peter Soucy has been writing, acting, designing, and directing for stage, radio, and television since 1986. He is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and taught secondary school Visual Arts for several years. FLUX, the most successful of his four stage-plays, has been published, performed in several provinces and states, and adapted for television. Peter won a Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council Award in 1985, co-founded Day Job Theatre in 1987, and won the Kari Award for best performance in a Canadian television commercial in 1996. He recently concluded a three-year appointment as Artistic Director of Rebel Island Theatre and the NaGeira Theatre Festival in Carbonear.
