The Railway Coastal Museum tells "Newfoundland's Most Fascinating Story." It is located in the historic, 100 year-old Railway Station Building, Water Street, St. John's. The station was designed in Newfoundland and built of granite quarried in the Gaff Topsails on the railway line.

S.S. Bruce

The S.S. Bruce was built for the Newfoundland Railway in 1897 by A. & J. Inglis, Glasgow Scotland. A particularly beautiful ship, the Bruce was the first to operate from Port aux Basques to North Sydney starting June, 1898. Lost off Louisbourg, Nova Scotia on March 24, 1911.
