About the Artists
Timber has been together for six, going on seven years, and have played all over the East Coast and now planning to tour the mainland Canada in the new year. Their new CD 'Single Thing' was released this past Dec 6th, 2002. The songs on the new CD are catchy, aimed at the university crowd or young professionals.
Timber is made up of four extremely talented members: Billy Hickey, Greg Mercer, Rick Holien, and Chris Sooley. Billy is the lead vocalist for the band. He pens all the lyrics, and most of the music and plays the acoustic guitar. Billy and Greg are two of the band's original four members. Greg plays the drums in the band. He lines most of the band's gigs and handles the logistics on the road Chris Sooley is the bass player of the band. Rick Hollett plays the guitar and creates much of the music to go with Mckey's lyrics, Hollett has an electronics course under his belt and has his own recording studio. He is considered the group's technical expert.
