The inspiration for this CD series was fostered by the Ryan’s
Fancy album “Newfoundland Drinking Songs” that was released in
the 70’s. Based on the success of “Newfoundland Drinking
Songs” we have put together another exceptional selection of
songs for “Newfoundland Drinking Songs 3”
What is more appropriate in Newfoundland than to have a few
drinks and get together with your friends, or even strangers you
just met that instantly become your friends, and have an old
fashioned kitchen party complete with songs, stories and
dancing.
Many of our drinking songs are Irish and Scottish songs that
have become perennial favourites in Newfoundland and Labrador..
On this CD we have put together another rousing selection of
songs that you might hear on a night out at your favourite pub.
Four of the songs on this CD, (Whiskey On A Sunday, Come
Round Any Old Time, The Rose In Her Hair and The Winning
Side), were recorded specifically for this CD.
