About the Artists...
Maura Hagan is an extremely accomplished, talented and gifted vocalist as well as performer whose overwhelming talent and enduring charm, personify the great Soul of Gael.
Originally from the musically rich and historic Glasgow, Scotland, Maura!s voice is filled with the raw passion and emotion of the land's Celtic soul. She emerges from a background steeped in tradition, musical heritage and values handed down through generations of families.
Maura has toured and performed with New York's world renowned Celtic band "Cherish the Ladies." With over 14 years of Irish dancing experience, she was able to share the stage on this tour with Dave O'Hanlon of "Riverdance" fame. During Maura's colourful and highlighted career, she has appeared at The Edmonton Folk Music Festival, and was delighted to take part in Celtic Connections 2000 in her hometown of Glasgow, Scotland where she was featured on BBC Scotland's National TV news magazine "Scotland Today". Maura also made a big impression when she lent her powerful vocal style and range on Rita MacNeil's A Night at the Orpheum album on the song "Home I'll Be".
Maura Hagan has just completed work on her long anticipated debut recording entitled "Comin' Around" This eclectic ten song offering ranges from traditional favorites to a folk/pop experiment in sound and style. With the arrangements and original songs contained on Maura's debut CD, it becomes perfectly evident that her glowing accolades and success are truly deserving.
