Owned by Peter Halley and Kathie Hicks of St. John's, Spirit of Newfoundland Productions was formed in January 1997. The company is primarily involved in dinner theatre, having established itself successfully in St. John's and toured across Newfoundland and Canada to enthusiastic audiences. The name of the company embraces its objective: the development of productions that celebrate and enhance the rich spirit, culture and talent of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Made up of a lively and talented group of vocalists and actors, who use beautiful harmonies and musical theatre to celebrate the special culture of Newfoundland and Labrador, the company has toured on the national Soiree tour hosted by the Provincial Government and the 2000 Viking Islendingur. Spirit of Newfoundland Productions dinner theatre has established itself as one of Newfoundland's primary tourist attractions and a favorite among the local dining crowd.
The Spirit of Newfoundland dinner theatre has released their first Christmas CD containing a unique collection of original songs, classic favourites, and Newfoundland treasures.
