Great Big Sea fans can now take home a little more of the band's magic with the release of a new performance DVD and companion CD that captures the uplifting spirit and revelry of a Great Big Sea party. Alan, Bob and Sean packed theatres from New York to Winnipeg, Vancouver to Atlanta, Saskatoon to San Francisco even selling out venues as far south as Texas and North Carolina.
This release celebrates the culmination of the bands relentless yearlong North American tour in support of The Hard And The Easy (2005), their 9th release that has sold over 80,000 copies in Canada!
Built around two different acts, The Hard And The Easy concert would highlight the folk side of Great Big Sea's repertoire, from the mermaid dance to songs about horses falling through the ice, to songs from the band's more pop-oriented repertoire all of this is captured on Courage & Patience & Grit: Great Big Sea In Concert. The DVD / CD is culled from two exhilarating performances recorded at the Belleville, Ontario Empire Theatre in June 2006 along with four Great Big Sea video classics: Captain Kidd, When I Am King, Lukey and Shine's Right Through Me. The companion CD features a 22 track audio version of the two hour concert DVD.
