About the Artists...
Dr. Zoo is a contemporary rock group from Newfoundland. The band consists of singer/songwriter/guitarist Randal Arsenault, drummer Brian Bishop and bassist Shaundar Barbeau. While completing a doctorate of Zoology in Johannesburg, South Africa, Randal teamed up with famous African producer Brian O'Shea. Together they recorded Arsenault's debut album entitled Dr. Zoo. In October Randal returned home to St. John's and formed the band consisting of Brian Bishop and Shaundar Barbeau. Currently Dr. Zoo is working and touring from St. John's where they have performed with top acts such as Timber, Sean Panting, and Silverseed. Recently, Dr. Zoo won the provincial segment of the National Songwriting Competition. They will be flown to Toronto during Canadian Music week to compete with provincial winners across Canada. Their song "Can Only Get Better" is on rotation on Hits 99.1 FM and CHMR. Their self-titled debut album was released February 7, 2003 in St. John's.
