Síochána, a band composed of six RNC officers, have donated their time and effort to this project in support of local children's charities. Members of the band include; A/Insp. Jim Carroll, CST.’s Bruce Mesh, Charlie Shallow, Wayne James, Steve Knight, and Sgt. Darrin Feehan. Their first effort, Cops For Cancer: On The Beat, was released several years ago and met with resounding success.
This time they have taken their efforts a step farther. The CD cover was designed by local artist Dave Hoddinott, who donated his time and effort on this project. All proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to the following charities: SUNSHINE FOUNDATION (Walk For Dreams), CANDLE LIGHTERS (Camp Delight), BIG BROTHERS and the CHILDREN’S TRUST FUND.
Bands appearing on the CD are; Great Big Sea, Buddy Wasisname & The Other Fellers, Shanneyganock, The Government Rams, The Celtic Connection, Neal O’‘Leary, The Punters, The Cobblestones and Connemara. Although the disc is a compilation from these artists, the four songs by Síochána were recorded specifically for this CD. The four songs by Síochána are: "Danny Boy", "Síochána Breakdown" (written by Charlie Shallow), "Rugged Shores" and "Daughter’s Lullaby" (both written by Jim Carroll).
