Leslie Bella
Leslie Bella considers Newfoundland to be "home".
She lives in St. John's with her beagles Ben and
Rosie. Leslie was born in the United Kingdom, and
came to Canada in 1966. She has lived and worked
in most parts of Canada before finally arriving in
Newfoundland ten years ago.
After publishing "The Christmas Imperative", about
women's work to develop framily through family
rituals, Leslie became interested in how we build
family. In pursuing this work she has studied
migrants, including Newfoundlanders living "away"
and "come from aways" living in Newfoundland. This
research resulted in the publishing of this book
"Newfoundlanders: Home and Away."
