Book Description
This book is a collection of stories
gathered and put together as a result of a
good deal of labour and research by the
author who has made a valuable
contribution to the history and archives of
his province which until recent decades
have been scanty.
The tales are grim and poignant because
they recount the ordeals of sailors whose
lives have been spent wrestling with the
cruel seas which lash the coasts of our
island. There have always been and
always will be tragedies at sea. It is
impossible to anticipate the circumstances
that can arise. Although much progress
has been made in the design and biulding
of ships of all kinds and scientific invention
has made the navigation and control of
vessles far more efficient and effective
than ever before , the dangers of sea
voyage are as real as they ever were.
Paperback. 133 pages.
