Book Description The Road to Nowhere is a manual of memoirs and lessons from a man who has lived a fascinating life and experienced things that few of us can imagine. His stories take us on a journey through the past, present and future in an attempt to explain why things are as they are. Goodyear's vast knowledge and experiences will expand the mind of the reader, raising questions and providing answers to many of life's mysteries.
Some of the tales include climbing Gros Morne, canoeing on Sandy Lake, murder, counterfeiting investigations, and the much publicized police shootings of Norma Reid and Daryl Power. Although these may appear as unrelated recollections, the stories are connected, and the challenge to the reader is to discover why.
About the Author
Cyril Goodyear is a man who loves the outdoors. Having served as a Newfoundland Ranger (later transferred to the RCMP), his initial exposure to nature came as an unwritten part of his job description.
In later years, as Provincial Court Judge, Chief Judge of the Provincial Court, Associate Attorney General and Director of Persecutions, Deputy Minister (Department of Rural, Agricultural, and Northern Development), Cyril always found time to get away from these high-pressure positions and return to nature.
He is the author of two books: Nunatsuak and Against the Elements. He currently writes a column for the Western Star.
