Book Description This book details the lives and times of the 204 men who served as Newfoundland Rangers. The Rangers existed from 1935 to 1950 and enforced all aspects of government regulations from criminal laws to game laws to administering social welfare or "the dole". Many of the Rangers were involved in heroic actions and several went on to outstanding professional careers when the Force was absorbed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police after Confederation with Canada.
