"
This is an unabashed recommendation to buy and read this book. Not only
does it cover the areas that every investor must know, it is understandable.
Most important, it mirrors the beliefs and opinions of one of Canada's
premier investment advisors, Larry Short, who recently received from the
Investment Dealer's Association, their Atlantic Canada Distinction Award.
There are many ways of measuring success. In Larry's case his achievements
reflect the success his clients have had meeting their objectives.
I've been with Larry at a number of seminars and client meetings over the
past several years. Larry's advantage is that he listens to people and only
when he has a complete grasp of what they are trying to accomplish will he
make a comment or recommendation. That makes all the difference and can
be seen in his writing style. He also has the patience that is a basic part of a
successful relationship between a client and an investment adviser.
A quick glance at the table of contents will demonstrate the range of Larry's
knowwledge and how this book will take clients step-by~step from picking the
right adviser to choosing the right investment mix."
