About the Author
Mike McCarthy was born in St. Jacques, Fortune Bay and moved to Terrenceville at the age of five. A retired teacher and librarian, he attended Memorial University and the University of Ottawa, graduationg with a Master of Arts degree in Literature. He has written for magazines, newspapers, radio and television; is the author of many non-fiction books on Newfoundland.
