About the Author
Marion Quinton Brake was born in Gander, Newfoundland and continues to live there with her husband Brian and their two children, Tim and Simon. Marion works part-time as a medical librarian. She is a nature lover and believes in protection of the environment. She has a love of gardening and animals and has a diploma in both Gardening/Landscaping and in Animal Sciences. She is a first time children’s author recently publishing her book “A Horse Named Lady”. Writing a book is something she first thought about when she was a teenager, but felt that it would be later on in her life.
Marion dreamed of having her own horse since she was a little girl and now is the owner of two horses. Marion’s first horse Lady came into her life after the unexpected death of her father. It was a difficult time and writing the book helped her through the grieving process. She dedicated the book in memory of her father who had listened to her while she was growing up about one day getting her own horse. He passed away before he could see her dream realized.
Marion plans on continuing to write and is presently working on her second book, “Lady’s Big Surprise”.
