Book Description
In this wacky but eternally wise tale, children learn the timeless secret to keeping their fuzzy friend forever!

Hairs on fingers/hairs on toes/hairs right up Aunt Bertha's nose. Now you see them/now you don't/Now guests come/and now they won't...

This perennially favourite story, of a perennially enduring problem... " millions and billions and trillions "of dog hairs has evoked tender, identifiable chords in dog-lovers everywhere. The highly appealing subject matter, energetic, rhythmic style as well as the rich, saturated European-hued illustrations, have garnered the book multifaceted accolades from all over! The following exemplifies the sheer delight taken in this rol- licking, riotous salute to a lovable mutt:

"A buoyant picture book that will delight pet owners... wonderfully bright and zany, surrealistic cartoon illustrations add to the hilarity.. a rambunctious read-aloud with a bit of pet care thrown in for good measure. A gleeful success!"
School Library Journal, New York

Cousineau's bright off-kilter, primary-coloured ink drawings add a distinctiveness. Recommended.
Canadian Book Review Annual

"One of the best... one of the funniest, fuzziest books encountered!"
CBC Radio

"A wild romp of a verse about a family's efforts to cope with the effects of a hair-shedding dog."
London Free Press

"Uses the poetic techniques chdren love, rhyme and metre. The illustrations are lively and the story is full of punch."
Kitchener- Waterloo Record

'Stylish, stylized, richly textured pictures capture the manic mood of the text... attendant chaos of the subject matter appeals to young children."
Quill & Quire, Canada's Book Review Journal

Delightfully daffy!"
The Observer, Montreal

"Comical and original."
Copley News Services, Washington DC

" Straight out of Dr. Seuss... a hoot and a holler all the way through!"
Town Crier, Toronto

"Has it all when it comes to young children: colour, an engaging rhyme, humour, and a lesson on a suitably-young level of some of the responsibilities a young pet owner will have to live up to... Ryan-Lush has fimily established herself as a children's writer of high calibre... a worthy addition to the shelves of children."
The Evening Telegram, St. John's

"Should stand the test of repeat readings."
Atlantic Books Today

An added wildly popular bonus is the board game on the inside covers of the book where one proceeds around the track by avoiding, or getting caught up in, dog hairs! This is indeed a little gem of a book where author and illustrator successfully mesh their talents to create that rarest of all jewels in children's writing ... the perfect picture book.

Normand Cousineau is a well-known Montreal artist who teaches art at the Université du Québec 'in Montreal. His editorial illustrations have appeared in The New York Times, The Globe & Mail, LIRE, The Observer, and L'Actualité
