Fran (Frances) Baird Innes was born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, where she received her early education. After graduating from Mount Allison University with a B.Sc. she worked in Toronto for a year, married and returned to Newfoundland to live in St. John's, where she still resides.
Fran has had a varied career as teacher, journalist, writer/broadcaster and City Councillor.
Mae's Night Flight is her first children's book.
Stanimir Stoilov is a Bulgarian who, like many of his countrymen in recent years, left a plane at Gander, Newfoundland, to take up a new life in Canada.
Since receiving landed immigrant status, Stanimir has worked as a freelance artist. He and his wife have recently moved to British Columbia where Mrs. Stoilov has obtained full-time employment as a researcher, and Stanimir is continuing his career in a new venue. |
