About the Authors For many years, Lisa Rae was an educator in both the English and French schools in Quebec as well as in British Columbia. She summered in Salvage, Bonavista Bay for over three decades before moving permanently in the summer of 2004. Now she spends her time on a variety of creative projects. She is married to Peter Pickersgill who illustrated this book. Peter Pickersgill is a writer, painter, cartoonist, architect and book illustrator. He was born in Ottawa in 1945 and first came to Newfoundland in 1953 where he discovered another universe. His columns and political cartoons appear in the Transcontinental newspapers of Newfoundland and Labrador. His book Neither Here nor There: Reflections on the Smiling Land chronicles his love affair with this province
