Book Description
At Ocean's Edge is about the Cantwell family who lived at Cape Spear Lighthouse in 1861 and tells the story of a shipwreck that actually happened in November of that year, through the eyes of the little girl Ellen Cantwell. The book provides a vivid account of life in a lighthouse 150 years ago and is illustrated by Mel d'Souza.

The book is a third in a series for children that uses the Historic Sites of Newfoundland and Labrador as settings. The first two books in the series are Marconi's Secret and the Amazing Adventures of Captain Bob Bartlett. Susan Chalker Browne is also the author of Goodness Gracious, Gulliver Mulligan.
