…An acclaimed Canadian artist enters a brave new world of poetry…
" My poetry is a personal exorcism; I am aware that exorcism is not
allways' art'. It is a self portrait, random pages from a diary in code, and
portraits of others, friends, anonymous, given the protection of pronouns.
" I use simple language: some poetry glitters and illuminates like a foyer
chandelier, I think of mine as a single light bulb in a porch."
Christopher Pratt
Christopher Pratt completed his studies at both Mount Allison's Faculty
of Fine Arts and at the Glasgow School of art in 1961. Since then, his
meticulous work has been exhibited widely in Canada, the U.S., Great
Britain, and Europe. He is represented in major public, private and
corporate collections in Canada and elsewhere, and his work has been
the subject of numerous articles, reviews, and publications. Pratt
continues to paint, make prints, and write in his home and studio in St.
Mary's Bay, Newfoundland. A Painters Poems is his first book of poetry. |
